Located in the bottom half of the North Island of New Zealand, Wanganui is situated near the mouth of the Whanganui river on the West Coast. It is the hub of a busy Dairy cattle and sheep farming area and in recent years is becoming increasingly known for its young forestry industry.
In early 2002 I followed my dream of a slower paced lifestyle with more room for my lovely Goldens to play. I made a major lifestyle change and purchased a boarding kennel and cattery. Situated on a hill overlooking Wanganui, on 5 acres of rolling green country, I have the best of both worlds. I live in the country surrounded by farmland but I am only 7 kilometres from the centre of town. Just 2 minutes from the river, I have lots of beautiful places to walk my dogs if I fancy a change of scenery.
As with showing, I take the breeding side of my hobby very seriously and I am committed to breeding true to type Golden Retrievers with good temperament being my first priority. All my breeding stock is hip and elbow scored and has annual eye tests. I place great importance on my puppies going to family homes where they are part of the family life. This includes a requirement that the puppy lives in the house, as proper socialization is necessary for a well-behaved dog.
Puppies are occasionally available to approved homes.
