Natural Feeding
Following a health scare with one of my dogs in 2007, I set off in search of some answers.
3 of my dogs enjoying their daily raw meaty bone.
After a lot of research and book reading I made the decision to change my dogs diet to raw feeding. Raw meat and bones and ground veggies of all types.
At first it is a bit scarey, after all, we have been "brainwashed" for years by "officals" that only kibble can meet all the full nutritional needs of a dog. Considering I have brought up 2 healthy boys and I didn't need to feed them a "complete and balanced" meal 3 times a day every day, then feeding dogs is not that hard. If you feed a variety of different meats and raw bones and veggies the need for any supplements is minimal. A couple of times a week mine get a little cod liver oil, kelp powder and some ground raw linseed. They also occasionally get some cooked rice and I add an egg 3 times a week. Of course my dogs love fish so they get some tinned sardines or mackeral from time to time.
It really is just common sense.

Darcy now 2 year old, has only ever been fed this way.
My ten year old boy Magic, has the best coat he has had since a two year old and bounces around the paddocks with joy.
My Latest Puppy "Beau" was imported from Australia, where his Breeder, Margaret Bourn "Bournbeau Goldens" also raw feeds her dogs. Beau is doing very well on his "meat and Veggie" diet here!
Some books I found helpful are :
Switching to Raw, by Susan K Johnston
Raw Food Basics for Dogs, by Carina Beth MacDonald
Natural Nutrition for Dogs and Cats by Kymythy R. Schultze
Give a Dog a Bone by Dr Ian Billinghurst
The first 3 books here are very easy reading.
